A former Acting Managing Director and former Editor-in-Chief of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Alhaji Ibrahim Mammaga, is dead.

Mammaga’s elder brother, Malam Zubairu Abdullahi, announced his demise, on Thursday, in Kano.

Abdullahi said the deceased fell sick, on Thursday, in the afternoon, and was admitted at the Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital, Kano, where he later died.

He said that Mammaga died at 62 during a brief illness, leaving behind a wife and six children.

He was a member, Nigerian Guild of Editors, NGE, and Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ.

The deceased has already been buried at the Tarauni cemetery, Kano, in accordance with Islamic injunctions.

Mammaga, who also served as Head of NAN, Lagos Operations, as well as Zonal Manager, NAN, Kaduna, retired from service on April 1, 2020, at 60.
