A former House of Representatives member, Rt. Hon Samson Osagie, on Sunday, April 10, 2022 lost his wife to the deadly Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC).
The former legislator announced the sad news on his social media page on Sunday night.
“At 7:30 pm this evening, 10th of April, 2022, my beloved wife, Olabisi of 23 years passed on after a fierce battle for eleven years with TNBC.
“I am deeply saddened by her demise as she was a dependable partner, friend and an ally. I pray God Almighty to grant her soul a peaceful repose. Amen,” Osagie wrote.
According to medical experts, TNBC is a kind of breast cancer that does not have any of the receptors that are commonly found in breast cancer.
It accounts for about 10-15% of all breast cancers. The term triple-negative breast cancer refers to the fact that the cancer cells don’t have estrogen or progesterone receptors (ER or PR) and also don’t make any or too much of the protein called HER2.
