A former governor of Delta State, Emmanuel Uduaghan, who left the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in 2018 for the All Progressives Congress, APC, is heading back to the PDP, on whose platform he administered Delta for eight years.

And there are indications that the movement maybe in no time. All potential hitches, as learnt, have been cleared for his home return.

Uduaghan repoetedly visited his successor, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa in Asaba a few days ago to discuss the necessary formalities preparatory to his return to the PDP.

Uduaghan, according to sources close to the development, had been under tremendous pressure by former  Governor James Ibori and the incumbent to realign with the PDP political family in Delta.

Feelers have continued to point to the bigger picture of the 2023 presidential politics, which the PDP is strategising to clinch.

The opposition party is single-minded in its task of dislodging the All Progressives Congress, especially in the light of the fact President Muhammadu Buhari is rounding off his two terms in 2023 .

The APC is already in a frenzy over the 2023 presidency, which it is expected to cede to the southern part of the country.

it has yet to be conclusively determined if the PDP will zone to the South or retain its presidential slot in the North as part of the strategies to win the presidential poll in 2023.

The return of Uduaghan to the PDP just as the return of so many former  gladiators in the other states like former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola and former Ekiti State Governor, Engineer Segun Oni to the PDP is not unconnected with realignment for the 2023 presidential and other levels of elections.
