A former governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and ex- deputy governor to Rotimi Amaechi in Rivers State, Sir Tele Bertram Ikuru, has resigned from the party.

In a letter dated September 10, 2022 and addressed to the chairman of the APC, ward 4, Andoni Local Government Area, Rivers, Ikuru said he was bidding the party “a solemn goodbye.”

He said by the letter he decided to lay to rest the “rumour” that had surrounded his political future.

He said he was leaving the APC because of the “non forgiveness, high handedness” of the former Transport Minister, Amaechi, which led to the abysmal outing of the party in Rivers State in 2019 and will also affect its chances in 2023.
