Senator Ehigie Uzamere has marked his birthday with a moving tribute to grace, service and the lessons of a life lived fully.
In a reflection titled “REFLECTIONS AT A SILVER AGE: A Journey of Grace, Service, and Gratitude”, shared with THE CONCLAVE, the elder statesman gave “all glory, honour, and thanksgiving to (the) Almighty God” for protection, mercy and faithfulness to him, his family and all that concerns him.

Uzamere looked back at his journey in three stages:
1. The young boy who dared to dream
2. The man who embraced responsibility
3. The patriot who stood firmly for justice, equity, and progress of his people

The senator distilled decades of experience into one line: “Life has taught me that true greatness is not measured merely by wealth or power, but by the impact one leaves on humanity and the values one upholds even in difficult times.”
He said he’s proud of relationships built over decades, bridges crossed, and scars that taught lessons. “Every scar carries a lesson, and every victory reminds me that perseverance always has its reward,” he wrote.

As he steps into his “new age,” Uzamere prayed for wisdom, peace of mind, good health, strength and divine guidance.
He made special prayers for his first grandchild, Osagbemwonrhue Uzamere, who shares his birth date: “Wishing him long life, good health, wisdom and great achievements.”

The senator ended with a charge to the next generation: find inspiration in discipline, courage, service, and faith in God.

As I celebrate my birthday today, I give all glory, honour, and thanksgiving to Almighty God for His unfailing grace, mercy, and protection thus far in my journey of life.
The years have come with challenges, triumphs, sacrifices, valuable lessons, and memorable experiences that have shaped my path. Through every season, God has remained faithful to me, my family, and all that concern me.
I look back with appreciation to the young boy who dared to dream, the man who embraced responsibility, and the patriot who stood firmly for justice, equity, and the progress of his people.
