The Executive Vice Chairman/Chief Executive of NASENI, Engr. Prof Mohammed Sani Haruna had mourned Prof. Samuel N. Ndubisi, Managing Director, Scientific Equipment Development Institute (SEDI-Enugu), who was assassinated in Enugu on Wednesday.
He also mourned his police orderly, Sergeant Ernest Ufuanya, who was also killed in the fatal attack by gunmen who are at large.
This was contained in a statement entitled: “Official Announcement”, issued on Thursday by NASENI.
It read in part: “On behalf of the Governing Board, Management and Staff of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Engr. Prof.M.S. Haruna regrets to announce the passing away of Engr. Prof. Samuel N. Ndubusi, the Managing Director of Scientific Equipment Development Institute (SEDI- Enugu) whose sudden death occurred in Enugu, Enugu State.
“The sad occurrence took place yesterday (Wednesday, July 7, 2021) in Enugu when the late Prof. Ndubisi was gruesomely murdered alongside his police orderly, Sgt. Ernest Ufuanya.
“The EVC/CE also commiserates with both families of Late Prof. Ndubisi and that of Late Sgt. Ufuanya, Management, members of staff of SEDI-Enugu and the entire NASENI family.
“Prof. Haruna urges all staff to take solace in the knowledge that a man’s life is not measured or defined by longevity only but by enduring legacies and lives touched positively while here on earth.
“The EVC/CE acknowledged that Prof.Ndubisi was a loyal and committed Staff and that he touched lives.
“He prays that God Almighty will accept the souls of the departed.”
