Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has postponed all the bye-elections scheduled to hold in 11 states across the federation.
This was consequent upon the raging protests against police brutality under the #EndSARS movement, which had turned violent especially in the southern part of the country, resulting in several deaths.
INEC Commissioner in charge of publicity, Festus Okoye, announced the postponement of the bye-elections on Thursday, October 22.
He said that the 15 bye-elections had been put on hold as a result of the current security situation.
The elections, for six senatorial districts and nine state constituencies, were scheduled to hold on October 31.
