On Tuesday, 5th November 2024 , the United States of America will hold her presidential elections. The choice before the voters is between former President Donald Trump of the Republican Party and Vice President Kamala D Harris. I prefer HARRIS to TRUMP because she is “unifier,” an embodiment of the core values and exemplar of what is good in America, and pursues pro-people agenda. She would make a better President than Trump who is the opposite here- a divider who lacks respect for the rule of law, morally bankrupt, tells lies at will, ready to put self interest above national interest and can instigate a mob attack on revered democratic institutions such as the Capitol as was the case in 2021 when he to president Joe Biden.
Based on individual qualities especially of high moral probity and ethical standards in public life, impressive record of public service as exemplified by being an elected District Attorney of San Francisco, California Attorney General, US Senator, Vice President of the United States, image and respect for the US abroad or globally, the need for a peaceful and prosperous World, blooming pleasant face as opposed to the gloomy face of the opponent, the need for female President, unity and harmony of the US and the advancement and interest of the core values for which the USA has been known for centuries since independence in 1776 including “Equality, Unity, liberty, self government, individualism, diversity, freedom, free trade, democracy, justice” for all,free speech, religious freedom, patriotism etc for which the opponent has no respect as the mob attack on the Capitol on January 6, 2021could show, the purpose of this note is to endorse Vice President KAMALA D HARRIS for president, canvass support for her and pray God to grant her resounding success .
The USA has come a long wayb and deserves to have a citizen with strong moral credentials as president in order to win respect both at home and abroad. No one who is truly interested in a peaceful and prosperous world would fail to show due interest in the forthcoming US presidential election for its implications.
The reason should be obvious.The stakes are high. Over the years, especially since the 1980s, when its main ideological rival, the USSR collapsed, thereby leaving her to be the undisputed effective police in chief of the world. So anyone that wins the race will not only be just the Commander in chief of the USA but also of the entire world.
The USA earned attention .
Since on the 4th July 1776 when the country declared Independence, she had worked hard to gain global prominence,….Driven by sane values such as Equality, Unity, liberty, self government, individualism diversity, freedom, free trade, democracy, justice for all,free speech religious freedom, patriotism etc the country steadily grew from its 13 states to its present 50 states and the district of Columbia.She offered the world Representative democracy.There emerged strong spirits of patriotism, nationalism, unity, democracy based on respect for the rule of law and democratic institutions. With shared love and faith in their creation, they built a unified country of many diversities- rainbow coalition of races, tribes , and nations into one big country with a strong national USA identity .
From the beginning, they hated dictatorship. George Washington, the first constitutional president of the USA, reportedly declined to run for a third term because he did not want to create a royalty or monarchy against which the colonies went to the war of Independence. The country was blessed with exceptional leaders of high integrity, morality, and patriotism.For instance, there was Abraham Lincoln, who went to war for the unity of the country and freedom liberty, equality of Americans including the slaves. There were other great men such as John Jay first chief Justice of USA, Henry Clay Speaker of the House , Hamilton, Madison, Jefferson , John Marshall 4th Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, JF Kennedy, R Reagan, Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi the first woman Speaker and many others who nurtured the USA to greatness and primus position in the world.
There are reasons for great concern about the USA right now. Everything good and decent about the country is under grave danger because of the ambition of former President Trump. The greatest creation and contributions which the USA offered to the world representative democracy and its related institutions, respect for the rule of law, high moral and ethical standards in public life etc are under attack and erosion by his divisive politics, disdain for morality , disrespect for institutions, many convictions, impeachment.He once sought to rig an election, and indeed prompted a mob attack on the Capitol. The moral deficit is huge. Both the USA and the rest of the world would unsafe with Trump in the White House. HARRIS is better here. VOTE FOR HER PLEASE.
