The world’s richest man, Elon Musk has hinted that he will be buying the world-renowned football club, Manchester United. While replying to a question posted at him on Twitter on Wednesday, August 17, Musk said that he is buying the football club.

The English Premier League football club Machester United has won 20 titles. Its former players include football legend, David Beckham.

“Also, I’m buying Manchester United ur welcome.” Elon Musk

When a Tweeter later questioned musk whether he was serious, Musk’s response was vague and indirect.

“No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams.

Musk said that if it was up to him to buy a sports team, it would be Manchester United since it was his favourite team growing up as a child.

“Although, if it were any team, it would be Man U. They were my fav team as a kid.

With a History of irrelevant tweets, Musk has put markets and shareholders on the edge while landing him in hot water. In 2018 his tweet about taking Tesla private landed a fine of $20 million. Last April, Musk joked about buying Twitter and went on to be its largest shareholder.

Speaking to News Cutter, a Sri Lankan football fan said that he believes Musk was joking and he was expecting Suadi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman (MBS) to take over ownership.

“Elon is just joking. But I was rooting for MBS to takeover.
