In what appears a surefooted disruption of the expectations of the ruling All Progressives Congress and the leading opposition party, PDP, the Labour Party (LP) candidate in the Saturday’s presidential election, Mr Peter Obi, is reportedly leading in Kaduna state, winning three out of the five local government areas announced so far.
The three LGAs, as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), include Kaura, Giwa, and Kajuru local government areas.
Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) won two – Soba and Makarfi.
INEC is expected to resume the collation of results in the remaining 19 LGAs anytime soon.
Kaduna State has 23 local government areas, and elections took place in all of them. (Metrowatch excepting headlines/intro)
