Ekiti governorship aspirant, Bamishile, denies accompanying ex-SSG, Oyebanji, to obtain APC forms

▪︎Says I remain a candidate to beat at the poll

Member represening Ekiti South Federal Constituency 2  in the House of Representatives and governoship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Ekiti State, Hon. Richard Olufemi Bamishile on Wednesday dismissed a report doing the round that he accompanied another aspirant, the immediate past Secretary to the Ekiti State Governmenent Mr Biodun Oyebanji, to the National Secretariat of the party in Abuja to obtain the latter’s nomination form for the forthcoming coming governoship election in the state

His denial was contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja.

He was reacting to a report doing the round with a group photograph showing the entourage of the former SSG to the APC National Secretariat, with a man who looked like him and which the report claimed to be him.

Hon Bamishile, who is also an aspirant from the South Senatorial District of the State, declared that he was amazed by such a mischievous and misleading report when his supporters and well wishers started calling him to find out what actually went amiss for him to have been involved in such a ridiculous act without their knowledge

According to him, “This is mischievous and unfounded propaganda targeted against my personality  which is bound to fail. I was in my  office at the House of Representatives wing of the Natiional Assembly preparing for the days plenary session when my attention was drawn to rhe trash. I could not believe this until I saw the fake photograph with my name boldly  written. The man who truly resemble me with other Colleagues from the Nation’al Assembly were there but I was not the person. I don’t dress like that.

“This is a serious matter. In the last few hours, I have been receiving several phone calls from all over the places from supporters and well wishers trying to find out the true situation of things and I can no longer bear the pressure. This is why I have to come out to debunk the fake and false report mainly to gain cheap political popularity which they will never get

“I am very surprised that some people can be so desperate to go to this extent of political blackmail. My appeal to those behind this dastardly act is for them to stop it immediately. This is a joke taken too far.

“As  a leading aspirant from the South in the forthcoming Governorship Election in the state, I remain a candidate to beat and nothing will stop me because the battle is not of me but of God.”

Hon Bamishile  who was a former Speaker of the State House of Assembly  therefore appealed to the leadership of the Party  to call those behind the campaign of calumny against his personality to order so as not to destroy the chances of the ruling APC from winning the State Governoship Election come next year.
