The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, has called on Nigerians, particularly Muslim faithful, to embody the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) by showing kindness and compassion to one another.

Idris made the call in his Eid-el-Maulud message to Muslim faithful on Tuesday in Abuja.

He urged Muslims across the country to reflect on the life and teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW), especially his messages of peace, compassion, patience, justice, humility and respect for others.

The minister said the values demonstrated by the Prophet remained relevant to Nigeria’s current efforts toward national development, unity and peaceful coexistence.

According to him, the country is currently navigating a period of reform and renewal that requires patience, sacrifice and collective commitment from citizens.

Idris said the Federal Government, under President Bola Tinubu, remained committed to building a stronger, more secure and prosperous Nigeria.

He said the administration’s reforms were aimed at strengthening the economy, improving national security, investing in infrastructure and expanding opportunities in education, skills development and enterprise.

The minister noted that the success of the ongoing reforms required the support and cooperation of all Nigerians, irrespective of religious, ethnic or other differences.

He, therefore, urged citizens to continue supporting efforts to build a more stable and prosperous nation, while ensuring that vulnerable members of society were not left behind.

Idris also encouraged Muslims to remember the less privileged during the celebration by extending helping hands to those in need and demonstrating the spirit of generosity and compassion.

He prayed that the Eid el-Maulud celebration would strengthen the faith of Muslims, deepen their commitment to peace and unity, and bring blessings to families and communities across the country.

The minister further prayed that Allah would continue to guide the nation’s leaders, protect Nigeria and grant the country lasting peace, security and prosperity.
