Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai Mala Buni has felicitated muslim faithful on the occasion of the Eid-el-kabir Sallah festival, assuring the people of more government support to security, agriculture, and infrastructural development.
He said the Eid lessons of sacrifice, charity, and love should be embraced and extended to neighbours, brothers, and friends irrespective of political, religious, and cultural differences.
Buni described the Eid Mubarak festival as yet another opportunity for the people both at home and the pilgrims in Saudi Arabia to continue praying for the security, stability, and prosperity of Yobe state and Nigeria.
The governor assured that his administration would, in the next two years, dedicate more resources, time, and energy to the improvement of sustainable security, agriculture, and infrastructural development.
He urged the people to take advantage of the rainy season to massively engage in agriculture for food security and economic prosperity.
Buni, however, advised communities in the riverine and flood prone areas to be cautious and heed to advise issued by relevant authorities against flood during the rainy season.
Buni commended the people of the state for their resilience, support, and cooperation to government policies and programmes, which serves as inspiration for his government to record the achievements across the state.
“l wish to dedicate the successes of this administration to your generous support and understanding. Together, we shall achieve more to improve the lives of our people. ” Gov. Buni said.
He commended officers and men of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies, vigilante, and hunter groups for their resilience and commitment towards improved security in the state.
“We should continue to cooperate and support the security agencies with credible and timely information to promote a proactive approach to collectively fight against insecurity,” he advised.
The Governor prayed and wished the people of the state and Nigeria, a peaceful and memorable Sallah celebration, with a call on parents to be vigilant on their children, and warned motorists against reckless driving during the celebration.
