Edo State THISDAY Correspondent, Adibe Emeyonu, is dead; Deputy Gov, Idahosa, mourns

Edo Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Dennis Idahosa has commiserated with the Edo council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and THISDAY Newspapers over the death of Mr Austin Adibe Emeyonu.

Emeyonu was until his death, the Edo State correspondent of THISDAY newspaper.

In a statement by Mr Friday Aghedo, Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Deputy Governor Idahosa, expressed deep sadness over Emeyonu’s death.

Idahosa described the late Emeyonu as a thoroughbred journalist who distinguished himself through professionalism, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to factual and balanced reporting.

He noted that Emeyonu’s contributions to journalism profession in Edo and Nigeria were remarkable and that his sudden demise represented a great loss not only to THISDAY Newspapers and the NUJ, but also to the broader media community and the State as a whole.

Idahosa extended heartfelt condolences to the leadership and members of the Edo State Council of the union, management and staff members of THISDAY Newspapers, and the family of the deceased.

He prayed that God would grant them the strength to bear the painful loss and grant the deceased eternal rest.
