Edo South Senatorial district of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has described claim by the Edo state government that the list of approved appointments of Senior Special Assistants and Senior Assistants was occasioned by harmonization of party executives.

The PDP in the Senatorial zone declared the purported harmonization upon which the governor based his appointments as null and void.

In a statement, the party Vice Chairman, Edo South Senatorial District, Nosa Ogieva-Okunbor and Secretary, Hon. Anthony Peter Ihimi said State Government Special Announcement dated 2nd December 2021 in connection with the appointment of Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants purportedly done based on harmonisation of Party Executive was sub judice.

The Edo South Senatorial District party officials said no leader was mandated to vitiate and disrespect the decision reached at the 2021 National Convention.

They added that the alleged harmonization was not only irregular but also an aberration of the provisions of the PDP CONSTITUTION 2017 as amended.

They called on all elected EXCO members at ward and local government area levels to disregard the said harmonization and go about their business of managing the party towards rescuing Nigerians from oppressive, visionless and rudderless APC government.

“Our goal is winning and delivering all PDP candidates for Presidency, Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly in the 2023 General elections.

“On behalf of the good people of Edo South Senatorial District, we congratulate all the appointees contained in the aforementioned Announcement and wish them well,” the party of the statement read.
