The Edo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, loyal to the National Vice Chairman South-South, Chief Dan Orbih, on Wednesday, at the Supreme Court, in Abuja, recorded their first victory over the Godwin Obaseki-led faction, as its request to substitute means of service, was granted by the apex court.
Reports said that the Legacy PDP had sought, through its lawyer, Chief Ferdinand Orbih, SAN, the permission to substitute service on 1st to 4th, as well as 6th and 8th respondents.
The case borders on the request on the court to ascertain the authentic candidates to represent the party in the 2023 general elections.
After granting the motion in favour of the legacy PDP, the supreme court adjourned the case till next week, the 22nd of September, 2022, for full hearing and determination.
The development has sparked off jubilation in the camp of the legacy PDP.
