National vice chairman, South-south of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Dan Osi Orbih, has reacted to the Court of Appeal verdict on the contentious issue of ad-hoc delegates that pitted his camp against Governor Godwin Obaseki’s camp, calling for calm.

Orbih spoke as reactions continued to trail the verdict of the Appeal Court in Abuja, on Monday, which held that “it is the internal affairs of a political party to determine its delegates.”

A report by Truthlive.net on Tuesday, quoted Orbih, who is the national vice chairman of the main opposition PDP, to have assured party faithful that all would be well with the party in a short while.

According to the former chairman of the Edo state PDP, “the appeal court has said that it is the responsibility of the political party to determine its delegates and not their responsibility.”

He said: “You know, the issues with our party are not really what I should be talking about on the pages of newspapers and fighting dirty in public, but I know very soon all will be well with the party and all our faithful party members will be happy.”

Orbih said that the rule of law must be allowed to take its true course in Edo State politics and Nigeria in general.

Orbih said: “I know yesterday’s Abuja Court of Appeal pronouncement is of great concern to our party loyal members. The judgment says it is the internal affairs of a political party to determine its delegates.

“My response is simple. I have told our members that they should not worry. We are on top of the situation and everything will end well.”
