The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded 98.25% of polling unit result sheets of Saturday’s governorship election on its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).
INEC has uploaded the result sheets of 4,440 polling units out of the 4,519 polling units in Edo State on IReV as of 5:44 a.m. on Sunday, September 22, 2024.
The people of Edo State, on Saturday, September 21, voted to elect a new governor to succeed the incumbent, Godwin Obaseki, whose eight-year tenure will end on November 12, 2024.
According to INEC, there were 2,629,025 total number of registered voters and 4,519 polling units in Edo State. Out of this figure, 2,249,780 (85.57%) have Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) and would decide Obaseki’s successor.
