Edo State governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Clem Ikanade Agba, said on Friday that what the party needed at this point in time was a man who could win election and work for the development of the state.

Speaking on a programme on Independent Television (ITV)/Radio- “Man Around Town” -on Friday morning, the former Minister of State for Budget and National Planning said this was not time for ethnic or zoning politics but a period to nominate a candidate who could win election for APC in the state and at same time translate campaign promises to reality.

He stated that the state was his entire constituency, and “where he comes from” should not be any problem.

“We are on. Wee need someone with cognate experience. I have proven to be that one as a commissioner and minister.”

He said he was an all-rounder as his elder brother was married to a woman from Edo Central while he was married to a woman from Edo South, noting that Edo was one.

“You see, I cannot go against my brother’s children or go against my wife as a governor,’ he said.

He maintained that the APC was not zoned at the national level and zoning could not stand at the state.

He said that despite limited resources at his disposal as minister, he was able to attract development to his community because “charity begins at home”, and Edo South and Central.

Specifically, according to him, he constructed Ekenwan Road from Army Barracks upward in Edo South where school, market and water projects were provided.
