A frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State and immediate past Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Agba, has promised to run all inclusive government if elected as the governor of the State in 2024.

Prince Agba made this known on Wednesday at Fugar while addressing the APC Local Government and Ward Executive Committees at the party Secretariat.

The immediate past Minister who was represented by Hon. Seid Oshiomhole, said Edo needed a governor that would perform like Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

Hon. Oshiomhole said they were at the APC Secretariat to solicit for the support of the party Leaders, Executives and critical stakeholders of the APC in the area to ensure Agba emerged the governorship candidate in the forthcoming APC primary election slated for early next year.

He asserted that since the exit of Oshiomhole as a governor, Edo State had not experienced development and good governance and assured the party Executives that Agba would justify the confidence reposed in him if voted as the party candidate.

On his part, the Edo North Coordinator for Agba 2024 Governorship Aspiration and a former Council Chairman of Etsako West Local Government, Hon. Alasa Idaro, said, Agba’s “eyemarked” performance as an immediate past Minister with over 76 visible projects credited to him and spread across the three Senatorial districts of Edo State set him ahead of his fellow contenders in the governorship race slated for next year.

He appealed to the leaders, the Exco, delegates and critical stakeholders of the APC to throw their weight behind Agba to emerge the candidate of the party as a result of his credibility, competence, general acceptance and his transformative performance as a former Commissioner in Edo State and immediate past Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In his remark, a former Secretary to Etsako West Local Government Council, Hon. Mohammed Zibiri posited that Agba had demonstrated genuine commitment and the necessary leadership qualities to drive the desired change needed in Edo State.

The former Council Scribe asserted that Agba was no stranger to the needs, concerns and the general interests of Edolites, having served in various capacities in the state and at the national levels and was ready to address them headlong.

Prince Zibiri added that Agba had what “it takes to take Edo State to the next level of development having served the State and the National level meritoriously.”

Responding, the Chairman of the party in Etsako Central local government, Comrade John Saliu thanked the governorship Aspirant for the visit and urged him to embark on wide consultation across the state to get the support of the people and assured them of doing the needful at the appropriate time.
