The Federal High Court sitting in Benin has restrained itself from further step in the light of appeal filed against the vexatious order of Monday.

The presiding judge, Hon. Justice G. M. Umar, adjourned the matter till June 17, to rule on the matter filed by by Kenneth O. Asekomhe and Hon. Mathew Aigbuhuenze Iduoriyekemwen.

The suit sought to stop the primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) scheduled for June 22nd as Obaseki insisted on the party having indirect primaries.

The Court further ordered that all court processes be transferred to the Court of appeal for hearing due to the application for stay of proceeding filed by the APC.

According to the calendar of congresses/primaries published by INEC, the APC will hold direct primaries to pick its candidate for the election as submitted by the National Working Committee of the party.
