Pastor Funsho Matthew of Voice of Jesus Church, Ilorin, has advised parents to stop delegating their responsibilities to school teachers and house help.
Mathew, who gave the advice in Ilorin on Saturday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said responsible parents should have time for their children.
According to him, most parents are too busy with their businesses and career pursuits to find time to care for their wards.
Matthew said: “Every parent must pay special attention to their children, irrespective of their jobs or career. Your children deserve your attention to excel in life.
“Make your family first before any other thing. Stop leaving your responsibility for house help and school teachers.
“Allow your children to have access to you. Give them a listening ear when they try to express themselves.
“Provide food for them, shelter them, invest in their education and advise them every time.”
The cleric also called on parents to create time for their children and guide them when neccessary.(NAN)
