Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has urged the 2025 Batch ‘C’ corps members to make dedication, resilience, and personal growth the hallmarks of their one-year national service.

Speaking Friday at the swearing-in and opening ceremony of the orientation course at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Kaiama, the governor said the service year offers a unique opportunity to acquire life skills and contribute meaningfully to nation-building.

Governor Diri, represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Alfred Kemepado, described the corps members as exceptional young Nigerians whose energy and commitment remain critical to the country’s development.

He reassured them that Bayelsa State is safe and supportive, promising full government backing with resources and opportunities throughout their stay.

“Use this orientation camp wisely. Seek mentors and be mentors yourselves. Let prudence and integrity guide every action,” he said.

Earlier, the State NYSC Coordinator, Mrs. Okpalifo Obiageli Charity, explained that the orientation programme is designed to build character, promote unity, and prepare corps members physically and mentally for the tasks ahead.

She commended Governor Diri for ongoing upgrades at the camp and his administration’s sustained partnership with the NYSC, while appealing for continued support.

The event formally flagged off the three-week orientation course for the 2025 Batch ‘C’ Stream I corps members deployed to Bayelsa State.
