Yobe State Governor, Hon. Mai-Mala Buni, has promised contractors working on projects in the state that funds would be made readily available to enhance timely completion of their work.
Speaking on Saturday at the inspection of ongoing construction works on the multi-billion naira Gashua and Nguru modern markets, Buni said he was satisfied with the speed and quality of work on the projects.
The governor, who was accompanied by the state Deputy Governor, Hon. Idi-Barde Gubana, Speaker of the state assembly Hon. Ahmed Mirwa and other top government officials, said: “There is value for money in these projects, it is quite satisfactory.
“I am optimistic that when completed, these projects would add value to the economy of the people, the communities and the state.”
He said: “The state government would always make funds available to facilitate timely completion of the projects.”
Buni also inspected township roads under construction in the two towns of Gashua and Nguru, and charged the contractors on timely completion without compromising the quality of work.
The commissioners of Commerce and works assured the governor that the two ministries supervising the projects would ensure strict adherence to the contractual terms and agreements.
