Tragedy struck on Sunday in the ancient city of Owo in Ondo State as some gunmen reportedly attacked three churches within the same area.
Saint Francis Catholic Churc and a white garment church at Owaluwa axis in Owo, Ondo State, were reportedly under attacks in which over 30 worshippers were said to have been killed.
Sundry media reports said the gunmen detonated dynamite on the premises of the churches before they started shooting on sight at church members.
Sources in Owo said that over 30 people were killed.
They said that many people sustained gunshot injuries in the fatal attack.
The attack, according to the sources, happened around 11am.
The ancient town, a source told THE CONCLAVE, is gripped with tension and fear.
The attack was allegedly carried out by gunmen suspected to be Fulani. This claim has yet to be officially verified.
Security operatives have been deployed in and around the church premises.
