Nigeria’s former Vice president, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has reportedly received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine in Dubai, the United Arab Emirate, thus becoming the first known Nigerian public figure to have done so.
Although, former Lagos state governor and national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was claimed by his don, Seyi, to be outside the country, to be vaccinated, pictorial evidence has yet to be released to validate the claim.

If it was true that Tinubu had been vaccinated, then he had beaten Atiku Abubakar to the first position.
In fact, in what appeared to be his sole mission in Dubai, Atiku Abubakar, according to reports, arrived in Dubai Wednesday (January 6, 2021) morning to accomplish it.
He was said to have made himself available in the afternoon of the same Wednesday to be vaccinated along with some prominent Dubai businessmen.
There are indications that many privileged and opportune Nigerians both in the private and public sectors may be quietly seeking to avail themselves of the COVID-19 vaccination abroad ahead of Nigeria’s scheduled start in March or so, this year.
