Governor Godwin Obaseki has been thrown under the bus by the National Working Committee, NWC, of the Peoples Democratic Party , PDP, leaving him down and out in the build-up to the primary elections of the party to elect its standard bearers.
With the decision, the NWC is acting in line with a subsisting court ruling and in compliance with constitutional due process.
THE CONCLAVE reports that the NWC has decided to reject the governor’s doctored list with which he surreptitiously supplanted the list of delegates that were elected in the May 5 three-man adhoc delegates election.
It was learnt that the NWC rejected both Obaseki’s list and the authentic list to end the mischief of controversy once and for all.
The NWC, as learnt, is sticking with the list of statutory delegates to elect the party’s standard bearers in Edo State.
The statutory delegates are mostly members of the original PDP who have vehemently resisted the integration of Obaseki and his APC loyalists who defected to the PDP with him before the 2020 governorship poll.
The resistance was due to Obaseki’s move to dissolve the State Executive Committee of the party that was validly elected for a four-year term at the last Congress of the partyband validated by the National Convention.
