The festering political crisis in the Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has reached a boiling point with the suspension of a chieftain of the party in the state, Kolapo Alimi.
The suspension is ahead of the forthcoming governorship election in the state which is fixed for July 16, 2022.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the date Wednesday.
A former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Alimi was suspended from the party on Friday over alleged anti party activities.
According to a letter signed by his ward executives, a copy which was obtained by The Conclave, he was accused of anti party activities which they described as inimical to the progress and future of the party in the state.
According to the letter: “We reviewed the various anti party activities of Barr. Kolapo Moruf Alimi and concluded that he is due for suspension, as the elders and stakeholders of the party have been duly carried along and he is hereby suspended from the party (APC)”
