- Admits difficulty in removing Buhari
Ebullient and politically savvy, Hon Sergius Oguns, a member of the House of Representatives representing Esan Northeast and Esan Southeast, has declared that the Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has stirred the hornet’s nest and may be removed from his position soonest.
While he said that it would amount to an uphill task to attempt an impeachment of President Muhammadu Buhari, Oguns stated that Lawan could be impeached this week.
Lawan’s offence was his pronouncement on restructuring wherein he slammed governors and other political leaders fir failing to lead by example in the matter of restructuring of the country.
He had specifically tasked the state governors to restructure their states first before talking about the Federal Government and the country.
He said: “As for the Senate President, he must be impeached this week because of his comments on restructuring.
“He is the chairman of the National Assembly. How can he be talking as if he is not aware of his position?
“The Senate President must be impeached this week and I think the process has started.”
But ass for Buhari, he said the National Assembly (NASS) could not gather enough signatures to impeach him.
Ogun, a second term member representing in the National Assembly, who appeared on a national television programme, spoke point blank.
Read him: “Because of ethnic factors we can’t gather enough signatures to impeach Buhari as the north won’t support it.
“In the eighth Assembly, I signed an impeachment notice but my colleagues from the North, who even admitted that Buhari had failed, said they could never support the emergence of a Yoruba man.”
