Former Military Administrator of Kano and Benue States , Dominic Oneya is dead, according to a report by Solacebase.
The late General died on Wednesday at his home town, Agbarho, Delta State, a family source confirmed on Thursday.
The source said that Oneya, died after a brief illness. He was reportedly in Abuja about a week ago, prior to his death.
Dominic Obukadata Oneya was born 26 May 1948 in Apapa, Local Government Area of Lagos state.
He was Military Administrator of Kano State, from August 1996 to August 1998 during the military regime of General Sani Abacha, and thereafter Administrator of Benue State from August 1998 to May 1999 during the transitional regime of General Abdulsalami Abubakar.
He handed over power to the elected executive governor of Benue, George Akume on 29 May 1999.
Oneya later beecame Chairman of the Nigeria Football Association, NFA.
