Developing: 21-storey building collapses in Lagos

A 21 storey building under construction in at Parkview Estate, Gerrard Road, Ikoyi area of Lagos, has collapsed.

According to eyewitness reports, some workers and the owner of the building were trapped in the rubbles.

As at the time of this report, the details of the casualties were still sketchy but a video from the scene suggests that the many people were trapped inside the structure.

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and other emergency responders have commenced a search and rescue operation at the site of the latest building collapse in Lagos.
