The Osun State Focal Person on National Social Investment Programmr-NSIP, Alhaji Lukman Abimbola Bello, over the weekend called on 1,950 Batch A and B of N-Power Graduate Scheme to use the opportunity of the entrepreneurship development training programme to develop themselves professionally.
Alhaji Bello made this call while addressing the beneficiaries of the programme organised by the Osun State government in conjunction with the Central Bank of Nigeria and Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster and Social Development, for the Batch A and B N-Power Graduates.
Alhaji Bello, who congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq for the commitment to the youths development not only in Osun but nationwide, noted that series of programmes have contributed to the upliftment of the entire youths in all ramifications.
The Focal Person who described the 5-day entrepreneurship programme as a way of empowering the graduads of the scheme on how to catch fish admonished the youths not to foment trouble while they should not allow themselves to be used by politicians.
“Since inception of the N-Power Graduates Scheme in 2016, 500,000 graduates have been produced across the Country while in Osun State, 20,000 have graduated under this laudable scheme.
“I also want to declare that selection of the beneficiaries was based on merit and not that the youths programme was designed for the APC members only. Among the beneficiaries of the training programme, we have both the PDP, APC, ACCORD, individuals among other political parties as it is designed for all and sundry. Whenever the opportunity comes, we are always trowing it open to the general public trough our advertisements,” Alhaji Bello added.
He charged the beneficiaries to use the opportunity of the five days training programme to empower themselves processionally while they should also use the government grant judiciously for the main purpose designed for while they should also shun violence.
Speaking unbehalf of the participants, Oluwatoyin Olanrewaju Ganiyat and Oyero Gbenga Michael commended the organisers of the training programme, saying the training was timely towards eradicating poverty among the youths.
They promised not to let the government down adding they are going to demonstrate all what they have been taught from the training when they return to their various destination while urging the government not to stop all the youths transformation programmes as a way of empowering the entire youths.
