Former First Lady, Patience Jonathan, has asked the Inspector General of Police (IGP), to arrest and prosecute officials of Bayelsa government over alleged abuse of office, criminal demolition and abuse of court processes.
She said in the petition that the officials demolished part of her property, Aridolf Resort Wellness and Spa, located at the Okaka area of Yenagoa, the state capital.
The demolition exercise was said to have been carried out by the state officials led by a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and the Chairman of the State Physical Planning and Development Board, Alabo Gideon Ekeowe.
Therefore, Dame Patience, in her petition letter to the police, demanded the arrest and prosecution of Ekeowe and others.
She said in the petition that the fence of the hotel was demolished by the government officials without allowing the management of the hotel and the police respond to the court order arising from the motion on notice instituted by the Physical Planning Board.
It was gathered that while the court ruled on the motion on notice on Monday, officials of the Bayelsa State Physical Planning and Development Board led by Ekeowe demolished the property with the support of the police.
