Human rights activist, lawyer and writer, Mr Dele Farotimi, said he had a God that the god of thunder could not kill, and therefore, he nursed no fears.
Farotimi, who was released on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, from the Correctional Service in Ekiti State after spending days in detention, amid his ongoing trial for alleged defamation, took to his X handle, on Thursday, December 26, 2024, saying that he could not be ruined.
Read him; “Tomorrow will be ‘when we kill him’. They then use rumours to ruin him.
“A god that the god of thunder cannot kill. Is the power of the god of thunder not enough to destroy? I face no fears. I have none.”
Farotimi was arraigned on a 14-count charge bordering on alleged defamation.
The Nigeria Police alleged he ‘criminally defamed’ Chief Afe Babalola in his book entitled; “Nigeria and its Criminal Justice System.”
Farotimi is standing trial for allegedly defaming Chief Afe Babalola, SAN.
