Publisher of Vanguard Newspapers Prince Samson Amuka-Pemu, also known as Sam Amuka, has disclaimed fraudulent WhatsApp messages currently circulating and claiming to be from him, asking for money to be paid into an account, stating that such messages be ignored.
In an immediate response to the messages doing the rounds on WhatsApp social media platform, tthe Vanguard publisher affectionately called Uncle Sam in the Nigerian media circle, said, “this message is NOT from me. I have not requested any financial assistance from anyone. Kindly disregard any such messages and do not respond or send money.”

WhatsApp and other social media platforms have been circulating purported messages from Uncle Sam requesting financial assistance. Many friends and relatives of Uncle Sam have received such requests including Vanguard’s former editor Frank Aigbogun.
