Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Saturday night announced 48 new infections.
The figure represented the lowest daily figure in about seven months.
The agency disclosed in its report that the fresh cases were recorded in 5 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The new cases, according to it, had brought the total confirmed cases in the country to 61,930 even as the total fatalities still stood at 1,129.
A State-by-State analysis revealed that Lagos had 18, FCT-13, Kaduna-6, Rivers-5, Ogun-5, and Ondo-1.
