The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) recorded 203 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, 31 May 2021, bringing the number of confirmed cases in the country to 166,518.
The NCDC in its daily report, said Monday’s report included backlog of data from Benue and Nasarawa States recorded from February to May 2021.
According to the report, Benue recorded 178 cases, Lagos-10, Ondo-6, FCT-4, Kaduna-4, while Plateau recorded just one.
Since the outbreak on 27 February 2020, a total of 2,099 persons had lost their lives to the virus while 158,781 had recovered and had been discharged.
Meanwhile, a total of 1,956,598 persons had as of Monday received the first shot of their jab, while 73,465 of Nigerians vaccinated with 1st dose had collected their 2nd dose.
The National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) disclosed these in its COVID-19 Vaccination update for 31 May, 2021.
