Nigeria recorded 60 new COVID-19 cases as of Saturday, April 17, 2021, bringing the number of confirmed cases in the country to 164,207.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) made this known in its daily update on Coronavirus.
The agency said Lagos state recorded the highest new cases of 22, followed by Rivers state’ 15 cases.
Breakdown of other states are as follows: Bayelsa-7, Kaduna-5, Ogun-4, Akwa Ibom-3, Osun-2, while Kano and Ebonyi recorded one case each.
Nigeria had recorded her first case on February 27, 2020.
154,325 persons have recovered and have been discharged since then.
2,061 persons had lost their lives to the infection so far.
On its part, the National Primary Health Care Development Agency team led by the CEO, Dr Faisal Shuaib met with the FCT Primary Health Care Board earlier on Saturday.
The stakeholders discussed strategies, gaps and ways the agency could support to improve the vaccination process in FCT.
