Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Sunday night, announced 79 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 56,256 cases.
This is the first time in recent times that the figure of new cases of infections would be this low.
The agency also confirmed 4 new deaths as the fatality figure increased from 1,078 on Saturday night to 1,082 on Sunday night.
The health agency disclosed that Lagos had the highest record of the new cases with-30, Kaduna-17, Ogun-7, Anambra-5, Kano-4, Katsina-3, FCT-3, Akwa Ibom-3, Oyo-2, Rivers-2, Delta-1, Plateau-1 and Ondo-1.
The data from the health agency disclosed that there were 11,022 active cases while 44,152 patients had been successfully managed and discharged.
