▪︎Oyo State leads
The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Friday night, announced 591 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 39,539 cases
The Centre said 12 new deaths were recorded in the country as the deaths figure also increased from 833 on Thursday night to 845 on Friday night.
The data from the health agency also revealed that there were 22,135 active cases in the country, while 16,559 patients had been successfully managed and discharged.
The data from the NCDC further showed that the latest COVID-19 infections were reported in 16 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Unlike previous cases, Oyo State overtook Lagos with a record 191 new infections, thus exceeding that of the Federal Capital Territory.
While Lagos came second on the list with 168 cases, the FCT recorded 61 cases.
