COVID-19 Updates: NCDC confirms 245 new cases, two new deaths

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Friday night, announced 245 new cases of COVID-19 infections in the country.

The health agency disclosed that Lagos had the highest record of the new cases with-81, FCT-73, Plateau-39, Kaduna-25, Ogun-13, Bauchi-5, Rivers-4, Ekiti-2, Taraba-2 and Kano-2.

The agency said two new deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the total fatality figure increased from 1,169 on Thursday to 1,171 on Friday.

The data from the agency disclosed that 101 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 62,686 while 3,363 cases were still active in the country.

NCDC explained that the discharges on Friday included 71 community recoveries in Lagos State managed in line with guidelines.

Total confirmed cases in Nigeria – 67,220.
Total discharged cases – 62,686.
Total deaths – 1,171.
