Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Thursday night, announced 197 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 55,829 cases.
The agency also confirmed 5 new deaths as the deaths figure increased from 1,070 on Wednesday night to 1,075 deaths on Thursday night.
The health agency disclosed that Plateau had the highest record of the new cases with 83, Lagos-48, Kaduna-17, FCT-16, Ogun-11, Katsina-7, Imo-4, Edo-3, Nasarawa-3, Rivers-2, Bayelsa-1, Oyo-1 and Osun-1.
The data from the health agency disclosed that there were 10,944 active cases while 43,810 patients had been successfully managed and discharged.
