The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday, announced that it had reported 74 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19), bringing the total number of infections in the country to 163,911 confirmed cases.
As of Tuesday (13 April, 2021), the public health agency recorded no COVID-19-related deaths.
The total fatalities figure in Nigeria stood at 2,061 deaths as of Tuesday.
The NCDC made these data known in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov.
It said that 74 new cases were reported from 9 states: Lagos-(30), Enugu-(11), FCT-(11), Akwa Ibom-(8), Osun-(5), Kaduna-(4), Ebonyi-(2), Rivers-(2), Ekiti-(1).
It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 163,911, out of which 154,225 had been treated and discharged.
The NCDC said that there were now 7,599 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it had so far carried out sample test on 1,803,117 persons.
It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, was coordinating response activities nationwide.
