48 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Nigeria as countrywide figure hits 166,146, according to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

The agency announced on Wednesday via its official website that the new cases were recorded in six states of the federation.

A State-by-State breakdown of the fresh cases showed the following: Lagos-22, Rivers-11, Enugu-11, Kaduna-2, FCT-1, Gombe-1.

The Centre for Disease Control further disclosed a person recovered and was discharged from various isolation centre and no death was recorded in the day under review.

Currently, Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases stand at 166,146; 156,529 recoveries and 2,071 deaths.

Meanwhile, 1,938,611 eligible Nigerians had been vaccinated with the first dose while 15,259 Nigerians vaccinated with 1st dose had collected their second dose.
