COVID-19 Update: Nigeria records 34 new infections, total now 165,215

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Wednesday, announced that it had registered 34 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

The total number of confirmed cases of infections in the country is now 165,215.

As of Tueday (4 May, 2021), NCDC said no death was recorded.

The total fatalities in Nigeria stood at 2,063 deaths as of Tuesday.

The NCDC made these known in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov

It said that the 34 new cases were reported from 4 states, including: – Enugu (19), Lagos (13), FCT (1), Kaduna (1).

It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 165,215 confirmed cases, out of which 155,371 had been discharged.

The NCDC further noted that there were now 7,757 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and that it had so far carried out sample test on 1,939,165 persons since the outbreak of the pandemic, last year.

It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, was coordinating response activities nationwide.
