Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Monday, announced that it had registered 30 new cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
According to the agency, this had brought the confirmed countrywide total infections to 166,315.
As of Sunday, 30 May, 2021, the public health agency said no COVID-19-related deaths were recorded, leaving the total fatalities in Nigeria at 2,071 deaths.
The NCDC made this known in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov
It said that the 30 new cases were reported from three states, namely: Lagos (26), Rivers (3), Kwara (1).
It added that with the new cases, the total numbers of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 166,315 confirmed cases.
The agency stated that out of that number 156,558 Covid-19 patients had been discharged.
The NCDC further noted that there were now 7,657 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it had so far carried out sample tests on 2,093,243 persons since the outbreak of the pandemic, last year.
It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, was coordinating response activities nationwide.
