The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Friday announced that it had registered 122 new cases of Coronavirus, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 166,682 confirmed cases.
As of Thursday, 3 June, 2021, the public health agency recorded 18 COVID-19-related deaths, leaving the total fatalities in Nigeria at 2,117 deaths.
The NCDC made this known in an update via its official Twitter handle @NCDCgov
It noted that the 122 new cases were reported from 9 states, namely – Lagos (105), Imo (4), Kaduna (4), Akwa Ibom (3), FCT (2), Delta (1), Rivers (1), Oyo (1), Ekiti (1).
It added that with the new cases, the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak of the pandemic in the country had risen to 166,682 cases, out of which 162,521 Covid-19 patients had been discharged.
The NCDC further noted that there were now 7,657 active cases across the country in the last 24 hours and it had so far carried out sample test on 2,093,243 persons since the outbreak of the pandemic, last year.
It also said that a multi-sector national Emergency Operations Centre (EOC), activated at Level 3, was coordinating response activities nationwide.
