Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Monday, July 12, 2021, recorded 161 new COVID-19 cases and one death.
The number has brought the countrywide total of confirmed infections to 168,713.
The NCDC disclosed this in its daily report on Monday, pointing out that the infections were recorded in Lagos-153, FCT-4, Gombe-2, Oyo-1, and Rivers-1.
According to NCDC, 74 of the cases from Lagos State were reported on July 11, 2021
Since the outbreak on February 27, 2020, a total of 2,124 persons have lost their lives to the virus while 164,476 have recovered and have been discharged.
In a related development, a total of 2,534,205 eligible persons have received their first jab, while 1,404,740 Nigerians vaccinated with 1st dose have collected their 2nd dose.
