The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Wednesday night, announced 869 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total infections in the country to 149,722 cases.
The health agency disclosed that Lagos State had the highest daily record of the fresh cases with-229, Rivers-79, Taraba-73, Oyo-66, Ogun-60, FCT-58, Plateau-56, Kwara-38, Ondo-38, Osun-24, Kano-22, Nasarawa-21, Abia-19, Edo-19, Akwa Ibom-19, Cross River-10, Delta-9, Benue-8, Ekiti-6, Borno-6, Katsina-4, Bauchi-3, Bayelsa-1, Zamfara-1.
The data from the agency disclosed that eight deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,779 on Tuesday to 1,787 on Wednesday.
The agency said 799 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 125,722 while 21,860 cases were still active in the country.
The agency explained that the Wednesday report included 377 community recoveries in Lagos State, 70 in Plateau State and 28 in Benue.
