COVID-19 Update: NCDC reports 708 new cases, 12 deaths

The Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), on Thursday night, announced 708 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total infections in the country to 157,671 cases.

The health agency disclosed that Adamawa State had the highest daily record of the fresh cases with-180, Lagos-141, Ondo-60, Anambra-54, Rivers-41, Taraba-33, Edo-30, Abia-22, Kaduna-22, FCT-21, Akwa Ibom-20, Kano-20, Plateau-11, Ekiti-10, Kebbi-10, Nasarawa-10, Bayelsa-7, Ogun-5, Osun-5, Oyo-5 and Gombe-1.

The data from the agency disclosed that 12 deaths occurred in the country in the last 24 hours, as the fatality figure increased from 1,939 on Wednesday to 1,951 on Thursday.

The agency said 504 patients were discharged in the last 24 hours as the figure of discharged cases stood at 136,335 while 19,385 cases were still active in the country.
